What safety issues should I consider?

A major consideration when organising an event, particularly for the general public, is safety. As all our marquees, aluminium structures and linings are made in-house, we know they are well made and what stresses and strains they can withstand.

All the aluminium frames have had structural calculations performed on them by a leading structural engineer and easily conform to British Building Standards. The PVC and material used for the covers and linings, conform to the latest British Standards for fire retardancy.

When quoting for public events, we refer to the Primrose Guide. This is a guide published by the HMSO and is used by fire safety officers as a reference. We are also a member of PTA (Performance Textiles Association). This is a nationwide association of marquee manufacturers and hirers. As part of their membership we are obliged to have our hire stock checked yearly and have spot safety checks on at least three sites by the chairman of PTA.
